The Hauraki gulf provides an incredible fishery with the snapper and kingfish fishing being outstanding. There is also trevally, gurnard and the spectacular plus the underrated kahawai.
Our Hauraki Gulf fishing charters include seeing spectacular workups with diving gannets funneling into the water at breakneck speed. This can be so intense it sometimes looks like a tornado in the distance. Dolphins, whales, snapper and kingfish all come to the workup feast and the fishing can be absolutely sensational. This is an event not to be missed.

The other side to Auckland
There’s another side to Auckland fishing which can be even more spectacular as it includes the the exciting addition of marlin, tuna, swordfish and mahimahi. There’s also kingfish, snapper and the other fish found in Auckland’s Hauraki Gulf.
We have MV Pelagic (Our 9m Whitepointer) setup behind a tractor in Little Huia which is as close to the West Coast as you can get so it’s a fairly short run out to the Marlin and Tuna grounds. Gannets workups with dolphins and whales also occur on this coast but the sight of a Marlin chasing and taking your lure followed by a screaming reel and Marlin acrobatic display is second to none.

$3,900 per day for up to 6 passengers (Maximum of 10)
Great Barrier has superb anchorages, fishing and supplies but you can chose to go beyond Northcape or into the Bay Of Plenty on your multiday fishing charter from Auckland. Waiheke, the Poor Knights, the Mercury Islands,, Kawau and many all are all popular destinations from Auckland. Friendly skipper and deckhand included.

MV Pelagic travels long range at high speed to get you out to the amazing workup fishing in the Hauraki Gulf. The Snapper, Kingfish, Tuna and Marlin fishing can be absolutely stunning from Auckland. From October to late December we target the brilliant workup fishing for snapper plus the awesome Kingfish fishing. From Jan to April we target mainly Marlin, Tuna and Mahimahi on Auckland’s superb Westcoast. MV Pelagic is brilliant for corporate and group fishing charters for up to 7 people.
